Acupuncturist | Homoeopath | Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Health Science - Acupuncture
Diploma Homeopathy
Diploma Comprehensive Nursing
In 1993 I qualified as a Comprehensive Registered Nurse and over the next several years I gained experience in a variety of disciplines including surgical, medical, psychiatric, pediatrics, maternity and palliative care. I started my career in Singapore at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where I worked as a Theatre Nurse in neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and cosmetic surgery. I then worked as a Nurse in London for two years before returning to New Zealand. I continued to nurse for a further four years part-time whilst studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and Homeopathy.
In 2001, I graduated as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Having undertaken my studies in Classic Homoeopathy concurrently, at this same time I also graduated as a Homoeopath from the Wellington College of Homeopathy.
Since the day I graduated I have practiced both of these modalities and now have over 20 years of experience in working with people towards better health. I initially worked at a clinic in central Wellington alongside other practitioners where I focused on Women’s and Children’s Health. A few years later I set up a practice at Porirua City Fitness to focus on treating musculoskeletal injuries. I now work exclusively from my clinic in Titahi Bay where I treat absolutely everything, all matter of conditions including mental and emotional.
In 2010 - 2015 I combined clinical practice with lecturing at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I taught the subjects of Western Medicine, Pharmacology and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I was also a Clinic Supervisor for the students undergoing training. I was also taught the subject of Western Medicine at the Wellington School of Homoeopathy.
I am a mother of six children and of everything I have done, raising them to be healthy, well-grounded and curious human beings is what I am most proud of. Motherhood has been a journey of growth and development; it has been the most challenging, exciting and rewarding phase of my life. I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my career, not just in the treatment of children and babies but in the treatment of the whole family - it is seldom just the child who needs the treatment. Clinical experience has taught me that if the family unit is healthy the individual is more likely to thrive, it is for this reason that I introduced a more affordable treatment option for families.
