Acupuncture
Treatment with acupuncture involves the insertion of small, thin needles into specific acupuncture points on the body. I prescribe Chinese herbs as a nutritional supplement to support and strengthen organ systems and for better overall performance.
In my clinic, I integrate the multi-diagnostic treatment methods that exist in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A full case history is taken including the diagnostics of pulse, tongue, facial and channel palpation. According to Chinese Medicine, your diagnosis and personalised treatment plan are shaped by the symptoms you present with. Chinese Medicine is holistic, safe and gentle on your body. Treatment options include acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese herbs, and cupping.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a form of treatment commonly used in clinic. The moxa stick is made from artimesia vulgaris (mugwort). As shown in the photo, a flame is used to light the end of the moxa stick. It is then held above the area to be treated. It is used for its healing properties of moving blood through the tissues, relaxing the muscles and nourishing the local area. It is pleasant and warming.

Supplementing your diet with Chinese herbs is a small change you can make that can lead to big gains in your health overtime. The formula most suited to you based on your diagnosis is the one I prescribe. The herbs I use have been processed into the little black balls as shown in the photo, you take between 5-10 at a time.

No needles? No problem! While acupuncture often triggers a state of deep relaxation and sleepiness, if you don't like needles, you don't like them! You can just have moxa, cupping, or alternatively, try homeopathy, which I also practice.

Like any treatment, acupuncture comes with a few side effects, the most common of which is slight irritation surrounding the needle insertion site. You can read about this here.
Ensuring that you have a safe and positive treatment experience is my number one priority. I always maintain informed consent; successful treatments are the result of collaboration between patient and practitioner. You can read about others' experiences with my services here.
